Ricky & Nini

well tonights my last night in tasmania - tomorrow i fly back to sydney. big thanks to andre&kate for the past two weeks. ill also miss these two little dudes. in the first fifteen minutes of arriving at mangana we heard yelping from a creek across the road & i found four abandoned puppies. andre&kate decided to keep two, and the black one is named after me. they're pretty cute, but i certainly wont miss treading in their shit the whole time.

Freycinet

3 things to remember in tasmania:

don't go to port arthur and freycinet in one day, you'll be driving for 8 hours. like i was.
don't run in the forest. you'll run into a big tiger snake and step on it. like i almost did.
don't forget to fill up with petrol before 18:00 cos everything shuts and you'll be running on empty. like i was.

Port Arthur

i was probably overly ambitious going to both port arthur and freycinet in one day. i was so rushed i learnt basically nothing about this place apart from it was an old prison and loads of bad shit happened.

Mangana gold

like many towns around here mangana got big during the gold rush and was virtually abandoned after. lots of shit was left behind.
